On the occasion of the conference on "Multilingualism and equal rights in the EU: the role of sign languages" at the European Parliament in Brussels on 28 September 2016, Ivana Bucko, the newly elected efsli President, and Liese Katschinka, EULITA President, signed a Memorandum of Understanding, which will deepen the cooperation between these two European organisations.
In addition to exchanging information on their respective activities, efsli and EULITA plan to develop a training module on combined teams of spoken language and sign language interpreters in judicial settings.
Marinella Salami, a former efsli President and current Executive Director of efsli, said that she was happy to share the moment of signing the Memorandum and the entry of the two associations into even better and more successful cooperation in the future.
