CONFERENCE INFORMATION

The conference will start on Thursday, 30 March 2017, with visits to local court rooms where participants will have the opportunity to sit in on a number of hearings (with briefing and de-briefing).

On Thursday afternoon, a workshop will be held at House of the European Union (an application has been submitted to DG Translation for a Translating Europe Workshop). Topics covered will include the EU Public Documents Regulation 2016/1191, curricula for training interpreters and translators in languages such as Arabic, Persian, Turkish etc. as well as the CEF.AT (Automated Translation platform of the Connecting Europe Facility) and ELRC (European Language Resource Coordination) initiatives launched by DG Connect and DG Translation.

The workshop will be followed by a welcome get-together.

The conference on Friday, 31 March 2017, will take place at Fleming’s Hotel Wien-Westbahnhof. The programme will feature selected presentations on the topic of “The Many Facets of Legal Interpreting and Translation”. The conference programme will be published in due course.

The conference will be rounded off by a networking dinner on Friday evening at a traditional Austrian wine tavern (“Heuriger”).

The seventh General Assembly of EULITA will be held on Saturday morning, 1 April 2017, and include the election of a new Executive Committee. Please note that separate registration is required for the General Assembly – EULITA members will receive the registration form with the convening letter in early December.

  • Early bird registration fee (payment before 15 February 2017): EUR 150
  • Regular registration fee (payment after 15 February 2017): EUR 180
  • Networking dinner (optional): EUR 45
The registration fee includes attendance of the court hearings and the workshop on Thursday and the conference on Friday including coffee breaks, lunch and documentation.
 
A separate registration form will be provided for registration for the EULITA General Assembly.

REGISTRATION RULES

Registration will close on 17 March 2017. Registration for the conference and the networking dinner on Friday is binding. A 50% refund will be granted for cancellations after 1 March 2017. Any changes must be made in writing and sent to vienna-conference@eulita.eu.

 

ACCOMMODATION

A limited number of 40 rooms has been reserved at the Fleming’s Hotel Wien-Westbahnhof (the conference venue on Friday and Saturday), Neubaugürtel 26-28, 1070 Vienna, for up to seven nights (27 March to 3 April 2017) at a price of EUR 99, breakfast included, for single rooms and a price of EUR 119, breakfast included, for double-bed rooms.
