On 18 November 2016, representatives of forty world-renowned colleges and universities, prestigious academic journals and sci-tech enterprises convened in Guangzhou, discussed and agreed on the establishment of the World Interpreter and Translator Training Association (WITTA). At the meeting, representatives of the Founding Members also discussed and approved WITTA Guangzhou Declaration, The WITTA Charter, The Governance of WITTA, and finally The Resolution of WITTA Founding Meeting.

EU Agency for Fundamental Rights (FRA) publishes INFOCRIM report
The EU Fundamental Rights Agency published its INFOCRIM report on the transposition of Directive 2010/64/EU. EULITA members contributed to this report by sending their replies to a survey sent out last year. The report "Rights of suspected and accused persons across the EU: translation, interpretation and information" was commissioned by DG Justice and will support it in preparing the report to the European Parliament.

Report on EAW-Rights project
The European Lawyers Foundation of the CCBE conducted an EAW-Rights project, analysing the implementation and operation of the European Arrest Warrant from the point of view of defence practitioners. The EAW-Rights report contains examples of good practice and recommendations and also contains valuable feedback on the translation of documents in connection with the European Arrest Warrant.
