Right before Christmas convening letters were sent to the full and associate members of EULITA announcing that the first general assembly will be held in Hannover, Germany, on Sunday, 27 March 2011. An informal meeting open to all persons interested in EULITA is scheduled for Saturday, 26 March 2011, from 4.30 to 6.00 p.m. (place: Hannover Congress Centrum, “Blauer Saal”, Theodor-Heuss-Platz 1–3, D-30175 Hannover, Germany). 			Update on Executive Committee activities
The practice to hold Skype conferences, which was introduced when the ash cloud over Iceland made it necessary to cancel a live Committee meeting, has been continued on several occasions in the course of the year. While these 1 to 2-hour electronic meetings are no 100% substitute for actual half-day or full-day sessions, they have enabled the Executive Committee to discuss and resolve a number of issues, as well as to decide on applications for full and associate membership.

			Austria dilutes application of its LIT legislation
As of the middle of 2011 the Austrian Federal Ministry of Justice will “insource” interpreting services for several languages at two major courts in Vienna to its service agency.
