Le 8 mars 2014, le Prix Danica Seleskovitch sera décerné pour la dixième fois par l’Association Danica Seleskovitch. Le prix sera remis à Christiane Driesen pour son engagement en faveur de l'interprétation auprès des tribunaux.
A second Voluntariat project completed
Portuguese versions of the Final Report of the Reflection Forum on Multilingualism and Interpreter Training, Vademecum - Guidelines for a more effective communication with interpreters and translators, the article "Legal Interpreting and Translation in the EU: Justice, Freedom and Security through Language" and the Final Report of the Special Interest Group on Translation and Interpreting for Public Services are now available under “Relevant documents” in the “LIT materials” section.
Appeal for information
The European Court of Human Rights is compiling a list of published English or French translations, preferably online or in digital form, of the Criminal Codes and Codes of Criminal Procedure of the Member States of the Council of Europe. It would be appreciated if any links or references to such translations from your respective European languages could be sent to EULITA member James Brannan at james.brannan@echr.coe.int.
Workshop on legal interpreter and translator registers to be held at the 4th General Assembly of EULITA in Krakow on 5 April 2014
EULITA members and participants in the Krakow conference “New Tasks for Legal Interpreters and Translators in the Enlarged Europe” will have an opportunity to exchange their ideas and experiences about the requirements of national/regional registers of legal interpreters and translators as well as the management of these registers in a workshop that will be held immediately before the 4th General Assembly of EULITA at Hotel Europejski in Krakow on Saturday. LIT Search launch conference in Antwerp on 6/7 May 2014
The LIT Search consortium will convene for its launch conference at KU Leuven in Antwerp on 6 and 7 May 2014, where the 15 co-beneficiaries* and 3 associate partners will be informed about administrative issues of the LIT Search project. At this conference, they will also discuss the modus operandi to be followed by the different consortium partners in order to reach the project objective within the 2-year time frame.
